A native of north central Florida, Melissa Silverman is a writer based in Washington, DC. She publishes fiction as well as nonfiction on literary life in the nation's capital and previously served as a reader for the Arts Club of Washington's Marfield Prize, a national award for arts writing. Melissa is the editor-in-chief of The Southwester, a neighborhood newspaper in print since 1963.
