Melissa Silverman is a writer based in Washington, DC. She publishes fiction as well as nonfiction on literary life in the nation's capital. She regularly attends workshops, conferences, readings and other events in the DC region and beyond, and previously served as a reader for the Arts Club of Washington's Marfield Prize, a national award for arts writing. Melissa is the editor-in-chief of The Southwester, a neighborhood newspaper in print since 1963.
